The Durkin Foundation is excited to announce its 3rd Boston Marathon Team! This dedicated group of runners will be training and fundraising to support the mission of the foundation. All proceeds from the foundation will be going directly towards programming that aids families affected by Alzheimers Disease, Intellectual Disabilities and U.S Veteran Services.
The Durkin Foundation & The Boston Marathon are two things that are both near and dear to my heart. Since starting the foundation back in 2016 with my parents ( Dan and Stephanie) in honor of my grandparents, (Brendan & Claire) and Aunt (Patty), it has given me the opportunity to meet so many incredible families and organizations across the area.
Now that the foundation has reached the point where we can make contributions, it puts my training and race day into a completely different perspective. Before it was, ” Imagine what this will do?” to now that I can see with my own eyes the impact it is making on these incredibly brave, strong and courageous individuals and their families because of our generous donors. The families are truly the backbone for their loved ones success. Our foundations mission is to honor individuals and their families and to let them know that they are never alone.
Running The Boston Marathon is an extremely humbling experience in itself. But running for amazing families like the Lampron Family and organizations like Skate for the 22 is a feeling like no other.
If you have not had a chance, I ask that you please take a few moments to meet some of our beneficiaries and hear their stories. There is not one family who has not been impacted by one or all of these causes.
With this being my fourth Boston Marathon, my excitement is just like it was for my first time, five years ago. I humbly ask for your support, please remember that NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL.
It has been a dream of mine to run the Boston Marathon and this year I am beyond excited to run as a member of The Durkin Foundation! I am excited for this opportunity and to be able to give back to the people who have positively affected many lives. The mission of the Durkin Foundation is to help and support individuals and their families impacted by the effects of Alzheimer’s Disease, Intellectual Disabilities, and U.S. Veteran Services by providing education, services, and daily assistance dedicated to improving the quality of life of all so challenged.
I am running on behalf of my Uncle Paul who has Down Syndrome and for his caretakers who show endless amounts of love to him. Anyone who has been fortunate enough to meet him knows just how much positive attitude and smile can fill your heart with so much love. I am hoping that you all will join me by raising money for a foundation that has touched many lives by providing financial assistance to families in need.
Hi All! I will be running my second marathon on September 14, 2020 as a member of the Durkin Foundation’s 2020 Boston Marathon Team!
The mission of the Durkin Foundation is to help and support individuals and their families impacted by the effects of Alzheimer’s Disease, Intellectual Disabilities, and U.S. Veteran Services by providing education, services, and daily assistance dedicated to improving the quality of life of all, so challenged.
All three of these causes are very near and dear to my heart. I am running in memory of my veteran grandfather, for some of my very close family friends with parents affected by Alzheimer’s disease and in hope and support of every family with a child with intellectual disabilities.
Please consider donating to this incredible charity! Any amount will help! Thank you in advance for your consideration and see you in April
