The past few weeks have truly shown how important it is to stay strong and work together toward a common goal of staying safe and healthy. This has fostered an amazing sense of community here in our local Massachusetts towns. The Durkin Foundation would like to continue this effort towards supporting and deepening the sense of community through our new initiative, Durkin Delivers!

The Durkin Foundation is working with local organizations to find deserving families in need of some extra support during this unique time. These families will fall within our three support pillars of Alzheimer’s Disease, Intellectual Disabilities, and U.S. Veterans. The families that are selected will be receiving gift cards to help put food on the table, which consists of either a gift card to their own local Market Basket or a gift card to a local restaurant.

The Durkin Foundation will be purchasing $30,000 worth of gift cards to Market Basket and $30,000 worth of gift cards to local restaurants. We will be working closely with Market Basket, as well as many local establishments, to collect gift cards each worth $100.00 that will both stimulate the economy and support our local families.

We understand that these are unsettling times and we look forward to easing the stress of our local families, as well as restaurant owners and employees. We hope you will join us in highlighting the strength of our communities and this program so that we can help as many families as possible.
